The Problem
I was contracted by MoeGo to help them bring a mobile first approach to a niche industry that desperately needed innovation. After speaking with mobile grooming businesses it became clear they were forced to use multiple products in order to manage their customers and appointments. Not only were the systems and products they used outdated or not designed for their industry in mind, but often were outdated and required hours of training. As MoeGo and I researched this industry more and more, a big problem emerged; we needed to create a customer relationship management solution that enabled mobile grooming drivers to simplify their workflow and increase productivity.
Users & Audience
Users of MoeGo are mobile grooming service drivers. Although the product is designed for service drivers in mind, admin level features also enable management and business owners to rely on the product as well.

Team & Role
MoeGo is a startup based out of Los Angeles. I was hired as an independent contractor to help the team create a well designed MVP. I establish the brand identity, helped create the initial feature list, provided wireframes, created high fidelity UI mockups, interactive prototypes and exported assets and screens via Zeplin.
Design Process
Since neither the CEO or myself had experience working at or running a mobile grooming business, we knew we had to interview business owners in order to address all their needs. After sifting through feature requests, we were able to identity their pain points; they wanted an easy way to mange customers, appointments and driver schedules. They also wanted a solution that would help them effortlessly optimize daily driver routes based on appointment location and driver availability.
I established the key specs that would need to be included in the MVP, then mapped out user flows accordingly. I then mapped out ideal user flows on a white board which was extremely helpful in simplifying each step.
These screens were created so that additional user vetting could be conducted. The wireframes were shown to business owners and mobile grooming drivers which lead to further user flow refinement. Based on these finalized user flows we were able to construct the information architecture such that users were able to quickly access relevant information.
Brand Identity
I was asked to use orange as the primary brand color and subtly incorporate a dog’s nose into the logo mark. I went with a color palette, iconography and font that felt approachable while still being appropriate for a utility product.
User Interface
After establishing the brand identity and reviewing some coveted apps of the MoeGo team, I had a had clear vision for how the UI should look. My main objective designing the user interface was to create a clean and legible experience. Time sensitive features of the app took priority on the main map view. I used color sparingly throughout the interface to help guide users attention.
Conclusion
Shortly after development of the iOS app was complete, MoeGo decided to port my designs over to Android. When originally contracted for the project, I had a limited timeline forcing us to cut some features. The features cut from the MVP were added only a few months after I wrapped up the project. These features included in-app messaging, tags and client notification settings.
I’m happy to report the app was a huge success and the company is rapidly growing. We successfully created a product that filled a unique industry niche and the client feedback and app store reviews reflect this.
Launch Video
This video walkthrough was produced after I concluded the project with MeoGo. Some UI was altered to accommodate new features added without my design assistance.
